Our client is currently in an exciting period of growth, partnering with established vendors to deliver a range of PKI solutions, managed services, and consultancy to organisations across the UK.

As part of their growth the are looking to recruit an experienced PKI Support/Operator to join them on this exciting journey.


As a PKI Support/Operator you will provide 3rd and 4th line break/fix support of the PKI Managed Service alongside day-to-day client request and fulfilment.

This role requires Security Clearance and is fully on-site at either York or Corsham sites.

You will need a strong understanding of cryptographic principles, security best practices, and the ability to work with customer of the service to ensure performance, integrity and security.

Additionally, you will be required to stay updated on industry standards and emerging technologies is crucial for effective PKI support.


Key Responsibilities:
- _ Certificate Issuance and Management: _

  • Issue digital certificates to users, devices, and services.
  • Renew, revoke, and reissue certificates as needed.
  • Manage the lifecycle of digital certificates, including expiration and renewal.
- _ Registration Authority (RA) Functions_:

  • Verify the identity of individuals or entities requesting digital certificates. o Authenticate users and entities during the certificate issuance process.

Revocation Checking:
_

  • Monitor the revocation status of digital certificates.
  • Implement and enforce revocation policies.
- _ Policy and Compliance: _

  • Enforce PKI policies and standards.
  • Ensure compliance with industry regulations and organizational security policies.
- _ Security Auditing and Monitoring: _

  • Monitor the PKI infrastructure for security events and anomalies.
  • Conduct security audits and assessments to identify and address vulnerabilities.
- _ Troubleshooting and Support: _

  • Provide support for users experiencing issues with digital certificates.
  • Troubleshoot problems related to certificate issuance, revocation, and usage.
  • Troubleshoot issues with physical appliances.
  • Troubleshoot issues with Certificate Lifecycle Management software.
- _ Documentation: _

  • Maintain accurate documentation of PKI processes, configurations, and procedures. o Keep records of issued certificates and their status.
  • Document fix information to populate a PKI Knowledge Base.
Key skills, knowledge & experience

  • Familiarity with Cryptographic / PKI concepts, for example hashing, encryption, signing.
  • Experience with KeyFactor EJBCA, VA and RA technology (or any other Certificate Authority software, for example Entrust Security Manager, Active Directory Certificate Services).
  • Experience with Certificate Lifecycle Management concepts and software, for example Keyfactor Command, AppviewX, Venafi etc).
  • Familiarity with Hardware Security Module (HSM) Technologies
