StratforduponAvon, Warwickshire, United Kingdom Tennis Kids Full time
Saturday Afternoons 12p - 2pm

We are looking for staff to help run/supervise our tennis sessions that we have currently running at various indoor sports facilities across Warwickshire.

Each tennis league is split over 4 divisions with 30-minute sessions between the hours stated above.
Some knowledge/experience of tennis would be beneficial, but not essential

Responsibilities:

  • Setting up of equipment (4 x tennis nets) in a timely/efficient manner as there's a limited amount of time in order to set up before kids arrive.
  • Be on the door to welcome parents/children as they arrive & identity which court each child will be on/who they will be playing against
  • Equip each child with an appropriately sized racket and make sure it feels a comfortable size for them and be able to identity mid session if their racket potentially needs swapping for bigger/smaller
  • Be able to recognise children that may need some help/ offer some reassurance.
  • Ensure that all children during their sessions receive equal amounts of guidance/attention and be able to encourage other colleagues fall short of this where needed.
  • For those that are at a 'match play' standard we have score cards where proper tennis scoring can be marked down. This will then need to be recorded on the back end of our website (which we will train staff how to do)
  • Build a good rapport with parents as well as children as we encourage parents stay during each 30 minute session.
  • Be aware of timing so sessions don't run over / whistle blow to mark the end of each session.
  • Once each session ends one of the team will gather children together to collect rackets/balls, at the same time another team member must then by the door to see parents/children out and on hand to answer questions.
  • Quick take down of all equipment at the end of each session and packed away neatly and then returned to the storage in which it originated.

Experience:

  • Previous experience working with young children
  • Excellent social skills
  • Confident to lead sessions and work along side others
