Recruitment and Home-finding Support Worker

CORE ROLE - HOME FINDING - approx. 60% of time

  • Support the management of incoming referrals of children
  • Sending out profiles of carers to Local Authorities
  • Creating new files/records for new referrals and new placements
  • Record matching criteria on child's file
  • Inputting information onto a database and server files
  • Support the writing of weekly and monthly reports
  • Following up any open referrals and assist foster carers to develop strategies to manage the behaviour of challenging young people.

CORE ROLE - RECRUITMENT - pre-Initial Enquiry (part 1) approx. 30% of time

  • Support the planning and implementation of an effective integrated communications strategy that will directly result in successful recruitment of prospective foster carers
  • Plan and deliver an annual calendar of promotional events
  • Support the development of marketing materials and advertising to support recruitment.
  • Support the production of promotional materials aimed at recruitment of foster carers
  • Work with partner agencies.
  • Work within budget constraints and seek to achieve value for money in all activities.
  • Monitor and evaluate activities against targets and timescales.
  • Maintain regular liaison with the Recruitment and Home-Finding Co-Ordinatorto ensure effective and satisfactory marketing service delivery.
  • Develop a specialist interest in fostering campaigns and monitor related activity in other organisations and nationally to help inform New Life Fostering's recruitment plan
  • To undertake such duties and responsibilities commensurate with the grading and nature of the post.

CORE ROLE - RECRUITMENT - post Initial Enquiry (part 2) approx. 10% of time

  • To act as the central point of contact for prospective foster carers, providing high levels of customer service and a positive experience of New Life Fostering
  • To be responsible for day to day administration as advised by the Recruitment and Home-Finding Co-Ordinator
  • To follow the process and support where necessary the flow through from a positive initial enquiry with an applicant through to panel.
  • To assist with the Quality Assurance process to ensure high quality reports are submitted to Panel
  • To prepare and contribute to weekly/monthly recruitment reports
  • To assist the Panel Administrator to prepare and present all paperwork required for panel
  • Attendance and active contribution at meetings as required
  • To maintain accurate written and computerised records, in accordance with agreed procedures and in order to meet legislative responsibilities
  • To promote the Agency to continue to attract high quality Foster Carers

Skills, Attributes and Experience

  • Confident, organised and motivated with a desire to succeed and make a positive difference to a child's life.
  • A positive 'can do' attitude whilst having the ability to work under pressure in a demanding environment with a high and manageable workload
  • Empathy and understanding are a must alongside an impeccable telephone manner
  • Good all-round administration, I.T. and data inputting skills would be helpful

Job Types:

Part-time hours: 20 per week

£11.00-£12.00 per hour
