We are thrilled to present an exceptional opportunity for a dynamic and driven individual to fill the role of HR Operations Lead within the CSL HR Team.

The HR Operations Lead position is a fresh addition, focusing on enhancing and overseeing HR Operational Performance at CSL, taking charge of key HR operational tasks. This role involves managing the entire employee journey, processes, procedures, and operational metrics. The appointed individual will be accountable for supervising HR Operational service delivery at CSL, which encompasses case management, HR systems, query management, and reporting. Beyond overseeing CSL's people processes, this role will collaborate with our people managers and teams to drive HR initiatives that enhance employee engagement, diversity and inclusion, performance, and organizational shifts.

This is an exciting juncture to join the HR team as we sculpt our new HR operational model, systems, and methodologies. You will play a pivotal role in influencing and shaping our HR strategy and key focal points post our transition to Scottish Rail Holdings.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Oversee day-to-day HR Operations Service delivery for the complete employee journey, processes, procedures, and operational performance metrics to consistently provide efficient, tailored people services throughout the organization
  • Continuously assess and streamline people processes to ensure top-notch service delivery to our staff and teams, spotting trends or metrics to drive continuous enhancement and evolution of HR Operational Performance
  • Ensure HR Service Delivery excellence - manage adequate work distribution and capacity, establish and govern standards of HR Operational excellence, have a clear view and grasp of the HR workflows, bottlenecks, volumes, escalations to handle daily HR Operations service delivery
  • Supervise the HR Operations team encompassing case management, complete employee journey, HR systems, query management, and reporting
  • Lead employee relation case management and act as the escalation point for complex cases
  • Create and oversee HR Operational Metrics and processes, offer insights and analysis of HR performance metrics, case work, key trends, formulate improved methodologies, process enhancements, and enhance HR Operations Service delivery
  • Lead HR Operational Change projects like HR System implementation process enhancements, Performance Management Frameworks and organizational alterations
  • Collaborate closely with the Communications Manager to devise an employee engagement strategy and roadmap
  • Lead Performance Management activities, provide guidance and cultivate line manager capabilities
  • Function as a Business Partner across various business segments
  • Head HR Policies and Process initiatives
  • Take the lead on Diversity and Inclusion aspects throughout the employee lifecycle
  • Perform any additional duties as discussed with the Line Manager

Requirements for the Role:

  • Translate HR and business strategy into HR operational activities and processes
  • Demonstrate a solid comprehension and background in HR Service Delivery/ People Operations capabilities and processes
  • Possess experience in handling the complete employee lifecycle, onboarding, offboarding, performance management, organizational change, and HR Business Partnering
  • Prior experience in efficaciously leading and motivating a team
  • Display a dedication to continuous improvement, with a readiness to question and contribute to change
  • Proficient in working with HR Systems, Excel, and other Microsoft Office tools, with high attention to detail
  • Strong analytical skills for interpreting and managing HR data objectively to report on crucial HR Operational metrics
  • Firm grasp of developing and embedding HR policies and procedures, recognizing the significance of seamless HR processes for enhancing employee experience
  • Ability to adeptly problem solve, with a track record of identifying and implementing innovative work approaches
  • Excellent written communication and presentation skills
  • Adaptable team player with a proactive approach
  • Aptitude to thrive in a fast-paced environment with diverse tasks
  • Effective organizational skills to meet deadlines

  • Preferred qualification in HR (desirable)
  • Willingness and readiness to travel occasionally as needed
