An exciting opportunity awaits for an experienced, enthusiastic, and highly motivated dietitian to deliver specialized acute dietetic services to the population of Cwm Taf Morgannwg University Health Board at Prince Charles Hospital.
- Hold a complex clinical caseload of acute inpatients.
- Be a key member of multidisciplinary teams for optimal patient outcomes.
- Contribute to service innovation and strategic development.
Main duties of the job include:
- Autonomously manage a specialist caseload of patients with complex nutrition support needs.
- Demonstrate expertise in areas like stroke, surgery, and gastroenterology.
- Lead clinical audit/research projects in the specialty area.
- Provide leadership for junior staff and support their development.
- Collaborate with ward teams for service improvements and strategic developments.
- Act as a source of expertise within and outside the Health Board.
Skills and Qualifications:
Essential:
- BSc. Nutrition and Dietetics or equivalent.
- Health and Care Professions Council registration (HCPC).
- Detailed specialist clinical knowledge of acute nutrition support.
- Postgraduate training/experience in specialist clinical dietetics.
- Knowledge of health and safety, clinical governance, and local health issues.
Desirable:
- Clinical Educators Course.
- Management qualification.
- Membership in a specialist interest group.
Experience:
Essential:
- Clinical experience in specialist acute nutrition support.
- Considerable experience with artificial nutrition in hospitals.
- Experience in clinical team collaboration and audit/research.
- Experience in supervision, training, mentoring, and human resource management.
- Experience in lecturing and presenting.
Desirable:
- Experience in operational management/leadership.
Aptitude:
Essential:
- Motivational and negotiating skills.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Clinical supervision and critical appraisal abilities.
- Strong relationships with stakeholders and ability to influence.
- Technical skills like data inputting and equipment handling.
- Adequate dexterity for intricate tasks.
- Ability to deal with distressed situations.
Desirable:
- Fluency in Welsh.
