Job Summary

The Advanced Specialist Pharmacist will provide highly specialized pharmaceutical advice and reports on clinical and financial drug issues in Paediatrics, Neonatology, Obstetrics, and Gynaecology. They will be responsible for leading, developing, and delivering specialist services with the acute site, in conjunction with the Lead Pharmacist for Children and Families.

Main Responsibilities
  • Manage and lead specialist neonatal, paediatric, gynaecology, integrated sexual health, and maternity services with the acute site.
  • Support the delivery of education and training for pharmacy students, pharmacists, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Develop and implement clinical pharmacy services to improve patient outcomes.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure safe and effective clinical pharmacy services.

Person Specification
  • Masters degree in pharmacy.
  • Registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC).
  • Member of the Royal Pharmaceutical Society (RPS).
  • Postgraduate diploma or MSc in clinical or hospital pharmacy, or equivalent experience.
Desirable Qualifications and Experience
  • Postgraduate management course.
  • Non-medical prescriber.
  • Postgraduate qualification in a specialist area.
  • Member of the RPS Faculty or working towards membership.
