Job Summary

The post holder will be an Advanced Clinical Pharmacist in Paediatrics, Neonatology, Obstetrics and Gynaecology, providing highly specialized pharmaceutical advice and regular reports on clinical and financial drug issues. They will be responsible for providing a safe and effective clinical pharmacy service to the specialties and directorate.

Main Responsibilities
  • Manage, lead, develop, and deliver specialist neonatal, paediatric, gynaecology, integrated sexual health, and maternity services with the acute site in conjunction with the Lead pharmacist for Children and Families.
  • Support the delivery of education and training for pharmacy students, pharmacists, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Develop and implement clinical pharmacy services to improve patient outcomes and reduce healthcare costs.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement policies and procedures related to medicines management.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to junior pharmacists and other healthcare professionals.

Person Specification
  • Masters degree in pharmacy
  • Registered with GPhC
  • Member of RPS
  • Postgraduate diploma/MSc in clinical or hospital pharmacy, or equivalent experience
Desirable Qualifications and Experience
  • Post-graduate management course
  • Non-medical prescriber
  • Post-graduate qualification in specialist area
  • Member of RPS faculty or working towards membership
