Product Lifecycle Specialist

Scope of the role:


As Product Lifecycle Specialist, you will report to the Valve Converter Design Team Leader within the HVDC Valve Converter Engineering function.

The successful candidate will be part of a highly motivated, dynamic and rapidly growing team of engineers working on the project activities related to HVDC applications.

This is a very exciting and dynamic field of power engineering in which GE's leading contribution has worldwide recognition.

The Role will focus on material data and Bill of Material (BoM) management within our ERP (SAP) system.

The Product Lifecycle Specialist will be the interface between the engineering output and the sourcing / Procurement function, ensuring effective and accurate conversion of information.


As part of the role, the candidate will be required to effectively manage SAP Material Masters and BoM product configurations to enable release of materials to meet product / project procurement deadlines.

The successful candidate will participate to different cross-functional meetings through the project life cycle, interacting with the different stakeholders within the business unit, such as Sourcing, Procurement, Manufacturing, Operation, Commercial, Engineering.


Responsibilities:


Create STD material masters - (Data obtained from Engineering) and advise on Material Structure.nCreate contract specific material data.nInput data from project plan - (Obtain from Ops, delivery dates and conditions).nCreate and maintain Purchase Requisitions - (Project Builder).nCreate and maintain EASY Purchase Requisitions / IST interface.nOngoing maintenance of Material Masters and Project Module.nReview procedures and practicesnProcess improvement identification and implementationnCreate and Maintain Project specific SAP BOM.nPrepare Training Material as required.nTraining of Key Users.nOngoing Development of new methods which will Automate and reduce the lead-time between engineering definition through to the procurement process.nSupporting Key User with daily Trouble Shooting.

nRunning of SAP reports as required to support business functionality

Candidate profile


Candidates should have proven experience using Master Data and/or Procurement functions within SAP to manage operations.nIt is key that the candidate has the ability to work quickly and efficiently within an engineering team.nAn enquiring mind and desire to learn new skills, and engineering products such as HVDC.nA key drive for improvement, driving standards and working methods into forward to enhance our business effectiveness.


Qualifications/Requirements:
nKnowledge of SAP software.
