If you are an experienced Specialist Palliative Care Nurse who can demonstrate robust leadership skills, or already an established Manager with a strong interest in Specialist Palliative Care (SPC), are strongly motivated, enthusiastic and committed to improving services and developing your staff, we would love to hear from you. We have an exciting opportunity for you to come and join us to provide clinical, managerial, and professional leadership to our experienced, hardworking and friendly SPC team.

The SPC nursing team work intrinsically with their medical colleagues supporting the nursing team in the delivery of patient care, education and undertaking audits and service improvement projects. The clinical caseloads are varied which reflects the diversity of the patient population of the Trust enabling close working with our specialties that make up our unique Trust. There has been a steady increase in the number of referrals received annually and part of our role is how we continue to meet our population needs.

Main duties of the job Clinical autonomy, with medical support as required

Opportunity to improve clinical practice

Develop, review and establish guidance and policies pertaining to SPC

Support, develop and manage a clinical team

Responsibility for patient and staff health & safety and personal safety at all times

Investigation of complaints & incidents within Trust policy and within Clinical Governance Framework

Service development in line with National and local guidance and initiatives

Oversee and where needed deliver programs of education

Maintain own professional development

Peer support from a strong matron team.

This post involves participating in the weekend rota for SPC (maximum 1 weekend day per month and 2 bank holidays per year) to ensure a 7 day visiting service About us Join us at the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital and be part of a workforce of over 10,000 staff
