Job Summary:


Charles River Laboratories Edinburgh is now recruiting for a Talent Acquisition Specialist to join the team based at our site in Tranent, East Lothian.

This is an excellent opportunity for a dedicated and genuine talent and recruitment professional to join a global company at the forefront of the Scottish Life Sciences sector in the development of new medicines, vaccines and therapies.

Reporting into the Talent Acquisition Partner your responsibilities will include:

  • Focus on direct sourcing, partnering with stakeholders and developing TA strategies for your target business areas, utilising a proactive sourcing approach, and building pipelines of future talent
  • To raise the profile of Charles River Laboratories Edinburgh Ltd and increase the number of quality, diverse applicants by proactively initiating and managing digital engagement through LinkedIn Recruiter, whilst consistently acting as a brand ambassador.
  • Advise hiring managers, senior stakeholders and HR Team on sourcing and selection methodologies.
  • Effectively implement the recruitment & selection processes for Permanent, Fixed Term, Contractor and Temporary resource.
We're Looking For

  • Knowledge of the end to end Recruitment & Selection process including legal requirements and best practice principles
  • Significant advanced working knowledge of the use of database searches and social media direct sourcing techniques; critically LinkedIn
  • Proven success of implementing Talent Acquisition strategies involving attraction & direct sourcing techniques
  • Experience of a range of internal and external attraction & selection methodologies: innovative sourcing solutions, competency based interviewing techniques, assessment design and delivery
  • Experience of senior management/specialist recruitment & selection processes
  • Ability to work as part of a cohesive and close knit team ensuring clarity of cross functional communications
  • An aptitude for managing multiple IT processes as part of the applicant processing journey (TalentHub)
  • Solid understanding of Visa and Immigration compliance requirements
  • A track record of engagement with Educational Partners for deliver of Careers Event programmes
  • Knowledge & experience of highly effective communication and engagement strategies for internal & external stakeholders
  • Highly skilled in working to deadlines and ability to prioritize workload in a fastpaced environment.
  • Ability to cope under pressure ensuring work received is processed effectively and efficiently

Charles River is committed to helping our partners expedite their preclinical drug development with exceptional safety assessment services, state-of-the-art facilities and expert regulatory guidance.

From individual specialty toxicology and IND enabling studies to tailored packages and total laboratory support, our deeply experienced team can design and execute programs that anticipate challenges and avoid roadblocks for a smooth, efficient journey to market.

Each year approximately 120 investigational new drug (IND) programs are conducted in our Safety Assessment facilities.
