We're currently working on fantastic permanent Support Work opportunities for a reputable social care organisation in Scotland. The roles are based in the community/residential and housing & tenancy support services across the Edinburgh and Lothian locations. Within the role you will be supporting adults with learning disabilities, physical disabilities, mental health difficulties, homelessness and substance misuse.
**Benefits**:
- £23,400-£24,523 (depending on experience/qualifications)
- £500 welcome bonus
- 33 days holiday per year (pro rata)
- Increases each year by 1 day for up to 5 years
- Enhanced sick leave
- Fully funded SVQ qualification with support from a dedicated team
**Responsibilities**:
- Provide practical support and encouragement across all aspects of people's everyday lives
- Create, update and regularly review support plans to ensure that they are always current and based on the evidence and opinions available.
- Supporting people and helping them relearn skills and regain their independence.
- Motivating people to achieve the goals they have set.
- Assisting with medication, money, mobility, personal care, including washing, dressing and toileting.
- Promoting Independence
- Work interdependently by building and maintaining effective professional relationships with families, friends and other professionals.
- Advocate on behalf of people, liaising with statutory and voluntary organisations, and linking people into community groups and support networks.
To be considered for the Support Worker Role:
- 6 months + experience of working with adults in the care sector would be highly desirable but not essential
- Social Care qualification would be highly desirable but not essential eg SVQ, HNC
- Motivated, enthusiastic & have a true passion for making a difference in people's lives
- You should be able to work shift patterns, evenings and weekends - this would be on a rota basis
