An opportunity has arisen for a band 3 Charity Accounts Assistant to join the Finance Team of The East of England Ambulance Service NHS Trust.

This post is to assist the Head of Charity in respect of the administration and operation of the Charity accounts.

Please be advised that a No Smoking Policy is in operation throughout the Trust.


The Charity Accounts Assistant is responsible for providing financial support to the Charities Team, supporting the Head of Charity and Head of Financial Governance and Compliance, in respect of the administration and operation of Charity function.

The post will also be expected to provide support to the Accounts Payable function for the Trust as required.

  • East of England Ambulance Service NHS Trust provides 24 hour, 365 days a year accident and emergency services to those in need of emergency medical treatment and transport in Bedfordshire, Hertfordshire, Essex, Norfolk, Suffolk and Cambridgeshire.
  • We also provide commercial services, training and nonemergency patient transport services for patients to and from hospital, treatment centres and other similar facilities.
  • The Care Quality Commission has rated the care patients receive as outstanding.
  • In 2018/19 the Trust received more than one million emergency calls from an area covering 7,500 square miles and a population of around six million people.
  • We're transforming services, including new ambulances and digital access.
  • Process Charitable Funds requests on a daily basis. Raising order requests and obtaining the necessary approval in line with Charity Governance. Liaising with suppliers to obtain quotes and place orders.
  • Provide administrative support for the Charity, supporting the team as appropriate.
  • Responsible for ensuring all accounting records, systems and files are promptly and accurately maintained, including appropriate treatment of VAT and tax and NI implications according to current guidance for Charities.
