A Project Officer is being recruited to support a shared-service approach to the provision of public transport information in the Highlands and Islands.

You will be joining a small, friendly and supportive team.

You will support the delivery of the HITRANS Travel Information and the Mobility as a Service (MaaS) programme. This important work is funded through a shared service agreement across the five HITRANS Partner Councils.

The main responsibilities of the role are outlined below:

  • Report to the HITRANS Partnership Manager on a day-to-day basis and engage with the public transport managers in each of HITRANS five Local Authorities as required
  • Maintain timetable information for services within the HITRANS area
  • Ensure all relevant timetable information is timeously supplied to Traveline Scotland and the HITRANS MaaS platform.
  • Be responsible for the maintenance of the realtime information systems operating in the HITRANS area
  • Support the Marketing of the MaaS platform and manage social media communications across platforms
  • Oversee and work with staff in partner councils to manage and extend the provision of roadside information and supporting infrastructure available
  • Ensure activities are delivered efficiently on time, and within agreed budgets
  • Input into progress reports/updates to the HITRANS Partnership Advisors, the Board and its member Local Authorities
  • Support colleagues to identify economic, funding, and innovative solutions that may help improve provision of information and supporting infrastructure in the area
  • Maintain effective working relationships with a number of key individuals

Requirements:

The essential requirements for applicants are:

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to build relationships with partners, supporters and the general public
  • Excellent IT skills and experience with Microsoft Office software packages and other databases
  • Ability to prioritise workload and meet tight deadlines
  • Ability to work independently with limited supervision
  • Awareness of the distinctive transport needs in the Highlands and Islands of Scotland, and a good understanding of the wide benefits of integrated sustainable transport and land use planning, policy and practice
  • Project experience, including delivery to a budget
