Job DescriptionThe Council's Civil Enforcement team play a key role in ensuring access along the highway is maintained, improving road safety at crossings, junctions and outside schools and keeping disabled bays, taxi ranks, bus stops clear for those who need them.


Officers will actively engage with members of the public during the course of their patrols, providing help and advice for visitors to the city, giving guidance on where drivers can park, and listening to residents' feedback to pass onto the management team.


Officers will also be looking for any faults with signs and lines, reporting graffiti and vandalism, and investigating potential abandoned vehicles, so that these issues can be addressed promptly by the relevant Council team.


So while the role involves enforcing parking restrictions, the work is appreciated and understood by many members of the public and residents, who see the friendly and approachable officers around local neighbourhoods and high streets as keeping the streets safe, clear and accessible.


The Civil Enforcement Team work a favourable shift pattern that enables Officers to enjoy a positive work life balance, while other benefits include a 15% shift enhancement to the pay scale, access to the Local Government pension scheme and any 3rd party discounts available to Council employees.

A full UK manual driving licence is required. Full training to NVQ Qualification. Uniform provided.
