An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Transport Administrator to join our Distribution team.

JOB PURPOSE
To provide comprehensive administration support in the day to day running of the transport office.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ensure all drivers and customers are informed of plans given by the manager and that the computer system is up to date.
  • To communicate between sales staff and the transport office changes in plans and situations that arise outside Benson Group, and any production issues involving the transport department
  • Deal with in coming calls and booking in all out bound delivery's
  • Running the cheps electronic pallets transfer system daily.
  • To maintain the leicester site extra costing spread sheet
  • Raising and processing Manifests
  • POD retrieval ensure all pods are indexed and scanned into the system in a timely fashion
  • Complete booking request forms for each customer
  • Overseeing paper and paperless filing and archiving for the office and maintaining local records
  • Managing and undertaking day to day administration tasks for the office
  • To resolve queries in a professional and efficient way within the same working day
  • To ensure all administration is clear, correct and in line with procedures and agreed working practices
  • Data entry, inputting orders onto the system
  • Compare the log of all goods received in against that which has been booked onto the system.
  • To demonstrate best practice in effective time management
  • To challenge existing ways of working to ensure they evolve with the quick and frequent changes

  • Time keeping and punctuality
  • Adherence to agreed procedures
  • Maintenance and upkeep of quality department files and records
  • Good housekeeping practices

SKILLS/QUALS

  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Highly organised
  • Good communication skills bother verbal and written
  • Ideally have previous admin experience in a similar environment
  • C.P.C. would be an advantage but not essential
  • Must have a good geographical knowledge of the country (UK)
  • Must have good knowledge of the transport industry
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to work under pressure and work to tight dead lines

  • Excellent communication skills essential,
  • Reliable and flexible with a strong work ethic
  • Able to effectively prioritise and adapt to a varied and changeable workload
  • Punctual, presentable and with good attendance
  • Will be working under a very fast paced environment so you must be experienced in dealing with pressure and be highly organised with the ability to multi task and prioritise
