Group Head of HR

Closing Date: 17 June 2024

Location: UK Wide (with travel to office locations, our offices are located in Belfast, Cardiff, Edinburgh or London). There will be a requirement with this role to attend London and Edinburgh offices regularly.

Hours: Full-time

Salary: Up to £90,000 (depending on experience)

The role

  • Reporting to the CEO, the role will be predominantly focused on operational HR, and will manage a team of approximately 20 HR professionals.
  • The Group Head of HR will act as the face of HR for the organisation and will be accountable for planning and executing all HR activities.
  • The successful candidate will have responsibility for the implementation of HR strategies to support business objectives and will ensure all essential HR functions and infrastructure are in place and effective, providing supportive and excellent HR services and business partnering to the organisation.
  • They will also work closely with the COO on the HR strand of our company change programme.

What you'll do

Energy Saving Trust seeks to appoint a candidate with a track record of creating and developing a high-performing HR function. Key responsibilities will include:

  • Talent acquisition and recruitment oversight.
  • Employee relations and engagement.
  • Talent management.
  • HR metrics.
  • HR systems and supporting infrastructure.
  • Change management and business transformation.
  • Training and development.
  • Diversity and inclusion.
  • Budgeting and cost control.

What you'll bring

  • Experience in leading an end-to-end HR function of a similar size.
  • Proven experience in managing teams and driving change through people.
  • Strong relationship building skills, with the ability to work in collaborative organisations with many stakeholders.
  • A commercial mindset, demonstrating value for money and ability to maximise productivity of teams.
  • A hands-on, can-do approach, with the ability to see the bigger picture and present at board level.
