This permanent position is based in Slough, United Kingdom, at a prestigious company renowned for its leadership in the design and manufacture packaging. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in developing and executing regional raw material category strategies and enhancing supplier relationships to ensure the effective management of procurement activities.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop and execute regional category strategies in alignment with internal stakeholders to enhance value across the organisation.
- Evaluate and select potential suppliers, and carry out risk mitigation activities.
- Implement savings strategies through negotiation and optimising supplier arrangements.
- Enhance long-term partnerships with suppliers to improve the total cost of ownership and reduce supply risks.
- Maintain stringent oversight of procurement budgets, forecasts, and supplier performance metrics.
- Uphold all procurement activities to the highest legal and ethical standards.
- Proven track record of negotiation and developing effective supplier contracts.
- Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills for effective internal and external engagement.
- Robust analytical skills, especially in analysing raw material markets.
- Experience with MRP systems, ideally SAP, and proficient use of Microsoft Office software.
- Forward-thinking with a continuous improvement mindset and excellent change management capabilities.
- Substantial experience in Packaging or related industries, preferably with a centralised sourcing team.
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Purchasing, or Supply Chain; further qualifications such as a Master's or certifications like CIPS are advantageous.
