Role/Business Summary:Finatal is currently partnered with a Venture Capital backed AI driven SaaS Start-up, who are revolutionising their space. After receiving early-stage VC investment of circa £10m, they are experiencing rapid growth and are now looking for an Infrastructure Engineer. This will be the first hire of its type, to have full ownership of their cloud infrastructure & operations. In the short term, you will assess and optimise the current technical architecture and in the longer term build a team around you, focussing on developing the infrastructure strategy and ensuring alignment to the overall business goal.
Key Responsibilities:- Lead the development of scalable, secure, and innovative cloud infrastructure working across cloud environments including Azure, AWS or GCP and also Kubernetes, Flux, Terraform, Temporal, and OpenTelemetry.
- Develop and deploy resilient, scalable, and secure infrastructure-as-code solutions to accommodate multi-tenant, single-tenant, and on-prem enterprise deployments.
- Assist in fostering a culture of security and compliance within the team while actively supporting related initiatives.
- Guarantee optimal performance, comprehensive observability, and robust disaster recovery provisions for our critical systems.
- In the longer term, build and have ownership of a dedicated infrastructure team as the business scales.
- Over 7 years of experience within the software engineering/cloud infrastructure space, with some of that being within a start-up and/or SaaS business.
- Highly technical and hands-on with Terraform, Kubernetes and either AWS, Azure or GCP cloud experience as well as CI/CD tools and practices.
- Proficient in security, data privacy, and compliance best practices, including certifications like SOC2 or ISO.
- Background in system monitoring, logging, and tracing, with a focus on building highly available systems.
- SRE experience is preferred.
- Familiarity with configuring and maintaining workflow orchestration systems such as Argo or Temporal.
