Are you looking for a new role that allows you to make a real difference to patient's quality of life? If so we are looking to recruit an enthusiastic, dynamic and flexible registered nurse, orthoptist, or doctor to join in a friendly team to deliver Intravitreal injection service.

This is a part time role, which will be paid at Band 6 level.

Full training for the role will be provided. People with previous experience in intravitreal injections and the relevant training and qualification are well accepted.


The post holder will be responsible for the assessment of care needs and the development, implementation and evaluation of programs of care for patients attending the department.

You will need to be flexible and will need to rotate within our other ophthalmic sites when needed .

The successful applicant will be working at different outreach sites of Bristol Eye Hospital Outpatients Department.

Demonstrate the ability to manage own workload independently, as well as professionally lead and oversee the team within the outreach clinic
Contribute to the development, implementation, monitoring and review of standards/policies/guidelines and service improvements for the Ophthalmology Service informing and collaborating with other colleagues as
Comply with the Trusts Manual Handling policy as frequent, moderate, physical effort is required throughout the

Autonomously manage identified case lists of medical retinal patients requiring assessment, treatment and review, consulting with senior clinicians as necessary.

Qualifications and Training
Current NMC/HCPC Registration
Relevant accredited post registration qualification at level 3
Extensive working experience at Medical Retina Unit
Willingness to work towards Masters level academic study

Experience of undertaking research or audit projects
Evidence of commitment to research based practice or evidence of project work undertaken

Ability to work alone or as part of a team
Knowledge of national and local specialty specific issues
IT skills including use of email and Microsoft office packages
Innovative and participates with practice and policy change
Commitment to the development and provision of high-quality nursing care -
