Campus Cleaning Services (CCS) provides Residence Management and cleaning across circa 7076 campus bedrooms, 705 campus kitchens and the cleaning service to 358 hotel rooms and 65 University buildings across the campus.

JOB PURPOSE


This role will support the Campus Cleaning Services department to train new starters, it will also include involvement in recruiting new staff to the department and conducting quality checks across campus.


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Training

  • To support in organising, coordinating and delivering inductions and ongoing training for staff including Health and Safety training within the Campus Cleaning Services department being flexible with start/finish times to fit around the business needs.
  • To assist in training assessments to ensure that records are kept of the cleaning staff who meet the standards of the British Institute of Cleaning Science.
  • To help compile the departmental training requirements following the Development & Performance Review process.
  • To keep and maintain accurate training for individual members of staff, producing information on training requirements, assist in locating training providers, booking courses and monitoring attendance at courses.
  • To carry out new starter visits across campus to ensure the standards are adhered to by staff.
  • To assist with training staff on how to use the new HR system.
  • Updating the training being delivered to staff as and when required.

Quality Management

  • To log quality audits of campus buildings and Customer Satisfaction surveys, and assist the Managers in compiling findings for actions to be taken.
  • To assist the manager in providing cleaning quality information and compiling monthly cleaning summary reports.
  • To assist in the analysis of the cleaning summary findings to identify any additional training requirements and to highlight any trends.
  • To liaise with the Innovise team regarding any technical problems with the system.
  • To carry out regular Quality Audits across campus.
  • To report any observations of poor quality when carrying out checks and visits.
  • To keep the cleaning quality software system updated with changes to rooms and new buildings.
  • To ensure that agreed Service Level Agreements are clearly documented and available to all staff.

Health and Safety

  • To work with the Manager to ensure all paperwork is kept according to Health and Safety legislation and University procedure.
  • To keep records of all Safe Systems of Work and Risk Assessments and accidents and near misses to review any trends.
  • To ensure that Safety Data sheets are kept updated.
  • To carry out visits across campus following accidents where required, suggesting solutions to resolve any issues.
  • To check cleaning cupboards out in the areas for required information to ensure this is in place.

Recruitment

  • To help create adverts and liaise with the Admin team regarding recruitment administration.
  • To assist in the process for shortlisting, interviewing and training and ensure all appropriate paperwork is completed.
  • To attend Jobs Fairs and Recruitment evenings when required.
