An exciting opportunity has opened up for a Nurse Specialist in PEA & Pulmonary Hypertension (CTEPH) within the PVDU department at Royal Papworth Hospital. The role involves supporting patients with Chronic Thromboembolic Pulmonary Hypertension & those undergoing Pulmonary endarterectomy (PEA) surgery, working autonomously within a multidisciplinary team.

This position offers a chance to work in a specialized field, provide care to patients, and act as a resource for patients, relatives & healthcare professionals. Full training will be provided for the successful candidate.

The ideal candidate should have advanced communication skills, be able to work autonomously, possess good IT knowledge & skills, and have experience as a Specialist Nurse in CTEPH.

Main Duties:

  • Ensure high standards of nursing care are delivered to patients
  • Promote patient privacy and dignity
  • Update patient information in the database
  • Act as a specialist resource for patients and healthcare professionals
  • Liaise with referring centres for patient pathway updates
  • Maintain accurate record keeping and communicate effectively with all stakeholders
  • Participate in MDT meetings and contribute to care planning
  • Develop communication skills for discussing surgical risk and life-limiting diseases
