Job Summary

We are excited to offer a great opportunity at Launceston Medical Centre for a Patient Advisor to join our exceptional team. As a Patient Advisor, you will be a vital part of our practice, providing essential support to our patients while collaborating closely with our GPs, nurses, and other healthcare professionals.

Job Type: Part Time (Hours a week)

Schedule: Monday - Friday. Additional Saturday hours worked on a rotating basis.

Working Pattern: Shifts between 08:00 and 18:30.

Main Duties of the Job

  • Handle incoming telephone calls, addressing inquiries, and transferring or documenting calls/messages as needed.
  • Assist patients in finding the most suitable service or healthcare professional in a courteous and efficient manner.
  • Schedule appointments and phone consultations for patients.
  • Perform various administrative tasks to ensure the practice runs smoothly.
  • Facilitate communication between patients and healthcare team members.
  • Coordinate ambulance requests and patient transport.
  • Stay adaptable, prioritize tasks, and provide coverage for colleagues when needed.
  • Collaborate with the nursing team and other healthcare professionals.
  • Update patient records with updated contact information.
  • Maintain stock levels in the reception area.
  • Participate in practice and reception meetings.
  • Undertake any other duties as required.
