The company provides accommodation and support for young people within a semi-independence setting under which we provide a house and a staff team to service the Local Authority contracts we work under.

The care levels vary, and all staff work on a fortnightly Rota and generally on a 1:1 or 2:1 basis with the young person in a residential house.

The staff team is predominantly made up of zero hours workers.


The job holder will be responsible for ensuring the management of the department alongside an assistant manager, team of office staff and field working senior managers but will report to Directors and a team of 8 key stakeholders.


The individual will:

  • CIPD Level 5 as a minimum.
  • Be a Chartered MCIPD (chartered member of CIPD).
  • Have demonstratable knowledge of employment law.
  • Have a working knowledge and experience of Safer Recruitment requirements.
  • Hold at least 3 years experience in a similar position.
  • Have a proven track record of seeing HR matters to a satisfactory conclusion.
  • Be patient, consistent, reliable and efficient.
  • Use persuasion and be able to work under pressure in a fastpaced environment.
  • Posses excellent interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Use experience to review the current operational structure within the department and implement necessary changes.
  • Take ownership of the role and the department taking responsibility for each aspect of the role and what the department needs whilst delegating and monitoring the team's performance.

Principal Responsibilities; to help grow the business by consistently providing the required number of staff to service contracts and to successfully manage the HR needs of the company:

  • Adding to the staff team on a weekly basis.
  • Monitoring the well being of the team and their probationary periods.
  • Working on the clear understanding that the building of the team is an absolute priority.
  • Reducing attrition and staff retention.
  • Ensuring staff wellbeing and issues are met head on and handled efficiently.
  • Handling all HR matters with the company's best interests in mind.
  • Regular auditing to ensure safer requirement compliance.


This is a wide ranging role requiring a competent and capable individual capable of focus and with the ability to prioritise and be adaptable to a changing environment where no day is ever the same as another.

Starting Salary £40,000 Per annum.

Annual leave entitlement - 30 day's a year (including bank holidays)

Interview procedure:
shortlisting will be completed after the first round of interviews, followed by a secondary interview and psychometric testing.
