This is a 12-month Fixed-Term Contract (Maternity Cover).

Are you ready to step into the role of Technology Lead at Essentra's digital development team? We are seeking a dynamic leader who excels in managing challenging projects within a fast-paced agile/scrum environment. As the Technology Lead, you will provide technical guidance to the team, oversee the development of critical software components and integrated systems, and actively participate in hands-on support to ensure the team's success.

Collaboration is key in this role, as you will engage with internal and external stakeholders to drive digital delivery, make key technology decisions, and maintain Essentra's digital applications effectively.

Responsibilities:

  • Supervise the digital development team, guiding them in coding new features for website enhancements.
  • Provide hands-on support and collaborate closely with the development team.
  • Lead the hiring and onboarding processes for the development team.
  • Contribute to product design in coordination with teammates and other teams.
  • Ensure the maintenance and performance optimization of production systems.
  • Conduct peer code reviews for quality assurance.
  • Work with digital operations and product teams to provide technical support and solutions.
  • Organize sprint ceremonies and oversee third-party development teams.

This position offers a hybrid work model, requiring 2-3 days of presence at either our Jarrow or Kidlington office per week.

Skills and Experience:

  • Demonstrated expertise in IT development and leading digital delivery efforts.
  • Degree in computer science or related field.
  • Experience supervising technology service providers and managing agile projects.
  • Proven ability to provide technical solutions for critical issues and make key decisions.
  • Track record of organizing sprint ceremonies and ensuring timely deliveries.
  • Experience overseeing development teams and driving digital delivery strategies.

Web Development:

  • Java (version 8 and above, ideally java 17+), Spring Framework, Hibernate, MySQL, Solr.
  • Proficiency in hosting technologies such as Docker, Kubernetes/AKS.
  • Hands-on experience with leading Cloud platforms like Azure, AWS, GCP.
  • Experience in developing B2B and B2C e-commerce websites and integrating payment gateways.
  • Knowledge of clustering, replication, DR, and performance optimization.
  • Integration expertise with ERP systems like Microsoft Dynamics 365, SAP, Infor.

Other Technologies:

  • Skills in Apache Camel, Rabbit MQ.
  • Proficiency in Azure Integration Services, Azure Functions, and more.
  • Expertise in automated testing frameworks and CI/CD processes.
  • Familiarity with source code management tools like GitHub.
