Protocol Education, a renowned education recruitment agency, is seeking compassionate and dedicated individuals to join our team as Autism Support Teaching Assistants.

This exciting opportunity involves working with children with Autism in a mainstream school setting, providing crucial support and guidance to facilitate their learning and development.


As an Autism Support Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), collaborating with the classroom teacher and other professionals to create an inclusive and supportive learning environment.

This role offers a rewarding chance to make a positive impact on the lives of children with Autism while gaining valuable experience in the field of special education.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide oneonone and smallgroup support to students with Autism.
  • Assist the classroom teacher in implementing individualized education plans (IEPs).
  • Help create visual aids and resources to support learning and communication.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment for all students.
  • Encourage student engagement and participation in classroom activities.
  • Support students with social interactions and emotional regulation.
  • Collaborate with the school's SENCO and external professionals to implement effective strategies.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience or strong interest in working with individuals with Autism.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Patience, empathy, and a nurturing approach.
  • Ability to adapt and differentiate instruction to meet individual needs.
  • A positive and proactive attitude towards supporting students' progress.
  • Relevant qualifications or training in Autism support (desirable, but not essential).
