The Governing Body are keen to appoint an enthusiastic and committed member of staff to our existing hard working team in school.

We are seeking to appoint a teaching assistant who can work alongside the class teacher in supporting a KS2 child with Significant Global needs (including cognition and learning, communication and interaction)

The post will consist of:

  • 20 hours as a Teaching Assistant across KS1 and KS Mon to Fri am (9am 12pm) and Thurs & Fri pm (1pm 3:30pm).
  • 5 hours lunchtime Welfare Mon to Fri (12pm 1pm)

We are looking for someone who:

  • can provide effective strategies to promote positive attitudes to learning
- have the skills and knowledge to support a child with cognition and learning needs
- can communicate effectively with parents, staff and other agencies

You must:
- be adaptable and flexible - plans can change on a day to day and hour to hour basis in school
- be patient
- be a team player
- have good time management
- be a good communicator
- have GCSE Grade C or above in Maths and English (or equivalent)
- have an understanding of the support needed for a child with SEND and their family

The contract is linked with the child and will run until August 2027 or when the child leaves Ribchester St.

Essential Qualifications

  • GCSE Grade C (or equivalent) in Maths and English Language
  • NVQ level 2 or above qualification appropriate to the post (or equivalent)

  • Experience of working with children with cognition and learning needs within a school setting
