You will be involved in building rotas, junior doctor induction and will be part of the Medical Staffing Collaborative Forum.

We are looking for a friendly, approachable individual to contribute to the organisation and management of the medical rotas across the Princess of Wales Hospital.

You will be supported to provide an efficient, effective coordinated service to our medical teams.

You will be the first point of contact for our medical teams and manage sickness absence, unexpected gaps and utilisation of hours.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.

This post is fixed term for 12 months due to - meet the needs of the service

  • Provides a point of contact for all rota related queries and absence reporting.
  • Undertake return to work sickness meetings up to initial discussion and complete all necessary paperwork in line with current policies.
  • Completes accurate reports in line with abstraction rates as and when required.
  • Establish and maintain strong working relationships with a range of internal stakeholders.
  • Communicates confidential, sensitive and contentious information to a range of internal and external colleagues.
  • Reports operational staffing issues affecting service delivery to the Operational Support Manager.
  • Supports the Operational team by promoting proposed workplace change in a positive manner, reporting any difficulties encountered.
  • Liaises with Clinicians and Oncall team in regarding rescheduling of priority shifts.
  • Supports clinical staff of all grades in the use of rostering systems.
  • Receives and relays sensitive staffing information in a confidential manner.
  • Undertakes presentations during clinical staff induction.
  • Actively engages in departmental meetings.
