Oracle Database Administrator (DBA) - Hybrid Working Opportunity in Cardiff

JOB PURPOSE

To manage Oracle Database Administration, Oracle Web Logic, and Oracle Fusion Middleware Server Administration for the Group's development, test, and live Oracle platforms.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Administer on-premise and cloud-based Oracle Databases, Oracle Web Logic, and Oracle Fusion Middleware services to ensure they are up-to-date, backed-up, available, secure, and performant.
  • Build, install, upgrade, migrate, and configure Oracle databases on a Windows Server platform.
  • Collaborate with application development teams to ensure excellent database design for performance and efficiency.
  • Work closely with service delivery and application development teams to provide service and resolve issues.
  • Design, monitor, maintain, and optimize Oracle databases and application servers for high system availability and performance.
  • Collaborate with Infrastructure staff to ensure proper infrastructure and identify and resolve bottlenecks.
  • Monitor, optimize, and manage memory and disk storage for all Oracle database systems.

EXPERIENCE

  • Strong background as an Oracle DBA.
  • Experience in Oracle Weblogic Server and Fusion Middleware Administration.
  • Proficiency in building, installing, upgrading, migrating, and supporting Oracle databases and Fusion Middleware Application Server on Windows Server.
  • Knowledge of SQL and PL/SQL.
  • Ability to develop and maintain Windows batch scripts.
  • Experience with Oracle Enterprise Manager Cloud Control for monitoring Oracle Infrastructure.
  • Proficiency in database backup and recovery using RMAN.

ABILITIES / SKILLS

  • Experience in Oracle Database 12c or higher administration.
  • Proficiency in Oracle Weblogic and Oracle Fusion Middleware server 12c or higher administration.
  • Knowledge of Recovery Manager (RMAN).
  • Windows Server administration skills.
  • Experience in batch scripting.
  • Proficiency in SQL/PLSQL.
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written).
  • Consistent ability to deliver on time.
  • Strong customer service focus.
  • Great technical documentation skills.
