We're McGovern Plant Hire, AKA #teammcgovern. Our family run and owned business is approaching its 40th year in operation, and we're growing.

Our services include providing operated and self-drive machinery such as excavators, dumpers and sweepers to construction companies all over the country.

We also run a wet waste depot where external sweeper and tanker companies come to dispose of their wet waste.

We are an end-to-end provider and everything we do is in-house, so we're a fully operational team of fun-going people who need a little help with the admin side of things during this period of growth (and beyond).

With that, McGovern Plant Hire are hiring


We are on the lookout for a full-time Administrative Assistant to get involved in, and learn, all areas of the business including finance, hiredesk, payroll and more.

You must be open to jumping into all areas of the business and be able to communicate and take instruction from a range of different people at different hierarchical levels within the business.


The tasks that you will learn will include (but are not be limited to)

  • Hire and waste disposal invoicing
  • Waste disposal hot desk
  • Hiredesk duties such as raising contracts and creating on and off hire notifications
  • Assisting in arranging drivers, their jobs, and transport logistics
  • Payroll duties
  • HR administrative duties such as updating records
  • Service admin including damage invoices
  • Purchasing admin including queries and filing
  • Sales calls to clients new and existing
