THE ROLE

Joining the SFS team as a business getter means taking charge of originating loans in the United Kingdom and Europe. Your role involves advocating the SFS value proposition both internally with colleagues and externally with clients, contributing to the strategic growth of Sotheby's by expanding client relationships and providing essential financing services.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Revenue Growth

  • Discover new lending opportunities by collaborating with Sotheby's relationship managers and internal stakeholders.
  • Establish trust and partnerships with external entities like private banks, art galleries, dealers, and storage facilities to attract new clients.
  • Foster existing borrower relationships and facilitate growth within SFS.
  • Handle incoming leads, including consignor advances, to drive revenue.
  • Work with the team to identify and implement growth strategies.

Deal Management

  • Assist clients through the financing process, offering tailored solutions based on their needs.
  • Navigate client negotiations from initial leads to final terms, serving as the main contact throughout the loan period.
  • Collaborate across departments to ensure seamless loan processing and maintenance.

IDEAL EXPERIENCE & COMPETENCIES

  • Must have a Bachelor's degree; an MBA is a plus.
  • At least 10 years of experience in client-facing lending, wealth management, or a similar role focusing on sales and relationships.
    • Prior experience as relationship managers in major auction houses and galleries is a bonus.
  • Charismatic, professional, and adept at building connections internally and externally.
  • Proven track record of exceeding targets.
  • Solution-oriented, self-driven, and proactive in approach.
  • Strong analytical and logical skills.
  • No prior art knowledge required, but an interest or curiosity in art and luxury objects is welcomed.
