Summary:Provide hardware maintenance and support for the Deposition Group in both CVD and PVD departments. This role will involve the maintenance, control of parts and preparation of demo lab equipment for processing customer samples and development part and process testing
The candidate will be required to work hands-on in the demo lab and configure the equipment to the requested customer sample set configuration or engineering request. The role also includes planning/organisation of parts and sourcing vital parts to fulfil the configuration request. A good understanding of Electronics / Electrical / Mechanical systems is required for this role. The role is based in the Newport factory.

Key Responsibilities:
Equipment maintenance and development:
Perform routine maintenance on product group equipment Solve machine failures and carry out appropriate repairs Plan, install and start-up of new equipment in the demo lab Keep accurate records of maintenance performed and parts in stock Contribute constructively to the work of development project teams. Communicate results and ideas to relevant co-workers verbally and via e-mail Keep the clean room and parts storage areas tidy Provide Breathing Apparatus support and be part of the site Emergency Response Team – training providedAssist other groups (e.g. manufacturing, customer support, etc) with occasional projects as required.
Key Skills:
Regular interaction, communication of ideas and tool status to the appropriate members of the deposition team, good working relationships are essential across the Newport site and occasionally externally
Work pattern:
The shift pattern will be Monday - Friday 0600 – 1400 or 1400 – 2200, alternate weeks or as required. On occasions, night shift, weekend and bank holiday work will be requested. Relevant shift allowances and holiday work payments will apply.

HNC or equivalent proven experience, Electrical/Mechanical field. Previous experience working as a technician with semiconductor process equipment, would be an advantage but not crucial. Electrical /Electronic fault finding experience.SPTS's benefits package includes:
