About the role:

  • Leading design reviews to ensure project proposals are fit for purpose and identifying scope changes required.
  • Managing the Circuits team, including workload and resource planning, recruitment, and line management responsibilities.
  • Maintaining technical specifications and guidance notes and providing expert advice to the Transmission business.
  • Reviewing test plans and suppliers to ensure equipment selected is validated and suitable for use on the transmission network.
  • Representing SSEN Transmission at industry events and conferences.

What do I need?

  • A degree in a relevant Engineering discipline and Chartered Engineer status.
  • Experience in managing subject matter experts and as a Design and Technical Authority.
  • Expertise in the design, construction, and installation of OHL, AC cable systems, or DC Cable systems.
  • Understanding of technical requirements for operation and maintenance of OHL, AC cable systems or DC Cable systems.
  • Knowledge of national and international standards and experience in writing technical specifications.
