About the Role

Avara Foods Ltd is a leading food business in the UK, supplying chicken and turkey to major supermarkets and restaurants. We're looking for a highly competent and motivated Lead Maintenance Engineer to join our Engineering Team at our Telford site.

Key Responsibilities
  • Mentor and lead a team of maintenance engineers and apprentices
  • Optimise machinery output and product quality
  • Minimise plant downtime through effective preventative maintenance and efficient breakdown response
  • Ensure a safe and healthy environment and promote good engineering practice
  • Timely reporting of health and safety, animal welfare, and environmental issues
  • Communicate and collaborate with colleagues, suppliers, and contractors
  • Lead and support improvement projects and initiatives
Requirements
  • Time served multi-skilled engineering apprentice with at least 5 years post-apprenticeship experience
  • Minimum qualification - apprenticeship-trained level 3 or above in an engineering discipline
  • Good knowledge of industrial/commercial refrigeration plant desirable but not essential
  • A good understanding of food processes in an FMCG environment ideal
