We are currently recruiting for a Management Accountant on behalf of our regeneration client based in Barking. The organisation is committed to delivering development and regeneration within Barking and Dagenham.


Due to continued growth, the organisation is looking to recruit a Management Accountant who will be responsible for maintaining and improving the quality of the financial datasets for the entire business.

The role offers hybrid working, working in the office in Barking at least 1 or 2 days per week.

Key duties will include:

  • Take full responsibility for the running of the monthend accounts and be responsible for producing and delivering accurate and timely financial processing, reconciliations, and reviews on a daily/weekly/monthly basis
  • Weekly/monthly balance sheet reconciliations, including control account and bank account reconciliations
  • Working closely with Operational Business Leaders to ensure all relevant financial information is captured and accounted for i.e., accruals, prepayments, accrued/deferred income etc
  • Calculate and post accounting entries and journals, including month end journals, accrual and prepayments
  • The preparation of monthly management information, including P&L, Balance Sheet and Cashflow forecasts
  • Partnering with Business units to provide support and challenge to managers across the business
  • Support and manage internal & external reporting channels varying from Board, Committee, Senior Management and Midmanagement levels
  • Manage the day to day accounting function, from facilitating the journey of sales/purchase invoices, reviewing VAT transactions, managing the outsourced provision of Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable and payroll outsourced services
  • Support accounting processes to ensure compliance with IFRS standards and manage the creation and audit of Statutory Financial Statements both at year and for regular reporting
  • Manage and develop the day to day finance operations processes to ensure they are fit for purpose and contribute to the successful running of the business
  • Support cashflow management and forecasting operations, helping manage working capital requirements, dividend payments and loan servicing and repayments
  • Contribute towards the production of costing and pricing, budgeting, management accounts and longterm finance model
  • Support the Audit Committee with Internal Audit work as and where required
  • Support the Commercial Finance Manager with routine reporting and Adhoc work
  • Line management of 1 Finance Assistant

Key Skills needed for the role:

  • CIMA/ACCA qualified
  • Strong attention to detail and desire for accuracy
  • Good IT skills with experience using Microsoft Office Suite (Excel especially) and any Finance Software
  • Strong leadership skills and collaboration with other teams
  • Strong, quality driven, accounting and analytical skills
