Luton, Luton, United Kingdom East London NHS Foundation Trust Full time
Wave 5, 1 x FTE post (Clinical/Counselling/Educational Psychologist), Systemic Family Psychotherapist, Clinical Social Worker, Arts Psychotherapist, Child Psychotherapist, Community Mental Health Nurse)

This is a fantastic opportunity to join one of our thriving Mental Health Support Teams (MHST) in Luton, an innovative and forward-looking pathway that is growing substantially across the county.

In Luton this pathway includes our existing and established CAMH Schools Liaison Team, our Wave 2 and 5 trailblazing MHSTs, and a third MHST coming on board in September 2023.

Mental Health Support Teams are part of an exciting trailblazer project funded by NHS England, Health Education England and partners with the aim of improving the mental health and wellbeing of children and young people in the community in response to the government's Green Paper for Young People's Mental Health.

You will be joining the Wave 5 MHST as a senior CAMHS practitioner.

Your team will be focusing on reducing health inequalities in communities in Luton, by improving their resilience, using a co-productive and relational approach to mental health.

Working alongside community partners and other stakeholders, including citizen stakeholders, the two MHSTs and the CSLT in Luton are fully integrated with their locality specialist community CAMHS in a stepped model of care, and the educational settings they work with.

The main focus of this role is to support the Team Operational Lead in managing and supervising more junior members of the MHS Team whilst working alongside the colleagues to develop and implement a wide range of interventions and projects with local schools and provisions.

It will support team colleagues and directly providing comprehensive assessment, risk management and brief interventions for children and young people experiencing emotional and mental health difficulties, and their families.

It is also an opportunity to work with school staff and school cultures, and the wider communities, in developing environments that are more conducive to supporting sustainably better emotional health and wellbeing and resilience.

Luton specialist CAMH services offers a comprehensive and seamless stepped model of support for all communities in Luton, following the Thrive model.

As a first step, CAMH Access Services offer (Giving Advice and Early Getting Help) services through all schools in Luton, with the Primary Care Access Service (or, PCAS) offering services through all GP practices.

We also have a clinician embedded within Early Help Services, all forming a strong early intervention and community-based service in communities.

As a second step, we have our multi-disciplinary teams offering Later Getting Help and Risk Management support, and as a third step we are in the process of developing both a local Inpatient Unit for young people, alongside an Intensive Home Treatment Team, the last two of which are an exciting new development.

We offer an exciting and dynamic environment where your ideas and career development will be valued. You will be supported directly by senior colleagues and we will develop the service together.

Our mission is to make a positive difference to people's lives by improving the quality of life for all we serve

Our values are:

We Care, We Respect, We are Inclusive - so we are looking for people who live and breathe these qualities when supporting service users and carers, and in their relationships with colleagues in the Trust and our partner organisations.
