JOB DESCRIPTION

Job Title:
Senior Care Assistant**
Responsibilities

  • To complete night medication rounds
- ensuring regular stock checking is completed and any issues are communicated to the day team

  • To display a friendly and caring attitude and have the ability to remain calm in a crisis
- to be able to lead others effectively and make sound decisions in an emergency situation
- to maintain communication links with on-call management in an emergency

  • Updating and auditing of care plans using our electronic care planning system (training will be provided)
  • Supporting management to supervise and mentor the care team
  • To maintain a safe working environment for all staff, residents and visitors to the Home within the guidelines of H.S.E. and C.O.S.H.H.
  • Working alongside the care team to perform all aspects of personal care for the residents, ensuring their physical needs are met.
  • To be a responsible keyworker.
  • Carry out regular checks on the residents throughout the night, and contacting any relevant professionals that the resident may need through the night
  • To attend inservice mandatory training courses.
  • To maintain the confidentiality of any person who is involved with the Home or any business matters relating to the Home

Other Duties

  • To attend staff meetings.
  • Maintain personal and professional development to meet the changing needs, demands of the home by way of regular attendance at supervisions and appraisals
