Do you believe that good governance and strategic oversight are essential ingredients for success in schools and settings? If so, then you would be well suited to working as a Project Officer in SLES for our Governor and Clerking Service.


The purpose of this role is to support the Governor and Clerking Service to deliver a targeted and relevant programme of support to governors and clerks across the county.

You will offer comprehensive support to our team to ensure that we can provide a swift response when schools ask us for help.

You will ensure that appropriate systems and procedures are in place to deliver our projects and programmes.

You will work closely with colleagues on the smooth and efficient delivery of our training, networking and briefing programme and our locum clerking offer, both of which are essential elements of our service.


  • Have a sound understanding of the Public Sector and the issues facing educational settings today
  • Are able to work under their own initiative without close supervision
  • Have the ability to effectively manage, prioritise and organise workload, and work under pressure to meet competing deadlines
  • Have experience of programme management or support
  • Have strong organisational abilities
