Victim Services Officer

This is an exciting opportunity to join the Office of the Sussex Police & Crime Commissioner as a Victim Services Officer, supporting the delivery of the Commissioning Strategy and making a real difference to victims of crime in Sussex.
About the RoleThe post holder will be part of the Victim Services team, responsible for providing victim services across Sussex, including the allocation of funding to projects and overseeing service delivery to ensure that victims of crime are receiving a quality service.
We have 80 commissioned services and a total of almost £6m in grant funding. In 2023/24, these services:
- Received nearly 60,000 referrals for support
- Supported 20,000 victims
- 90% of victims supported said that the support they received improved their ability to cope and gave them hope for the future
- 90% received a good service
The outcomes of our work have a significant positive impact on victims of crime and make for a rewarding role.
Key Responsibilities- Supporting the Victim Services Team in the management and monitoring of services
- Supporting the team in the commissioning of new services
- Leading on the development and implementation of service delivery plans
- Leading on the monitoring and evaluation of service delivery
We are looking for someone who is highly motivated, has excellent planning and organisation skills, and experience of working with a range of stakeholders.
The ideal candidate will have:
- Demonstrate sound judgement, decision making, negotiating and influencing skills
- Experience of developing collaborative working relationships with partners
- Ability to work on own initiative, to prioritise and respond flexibly with changing demands
- Excellent oral and written communications
- Ability to prioritise tasks with conflicting demands/deadlines
- High level of attention to detail
- Excellent planning and task management skills
- Ability to deal with members of the public sensitively
- Experience of working with Microsoft Excel and Word
- Knowledge of commissioning public sector services, including monitoring and management of service delivery
