The governors wish to appoint a motivated, dedicated, caring and reliable TA to support a child with their Global Delay and interaction in a Year 5 class.

This would involve targeted 1:1 work and supporting within and outside the classroom environment based on their targets within their EHC Plan.

Kennington Primary School is a thriving primary school in the heart of Fulwood in Preston, committed to providing a high-quality education for all our pupils.

  • Have experience in working 1:1 within classroom settings.
  • Have experience supporting neuro diverse children.
  • Have an understanding and/or experience of deescalation techniques to support challenging behaviour.
  • Have an understanding and/or experience of supporting children with sensory processing needs.
  • Has the ability to work as part of a team.
  • Is able to liaise with team members and has good communication skills.
  • Will offer to go the extra mile.
  • Is not afraid to use their initiative.
  • Is energetic, positive and has a good sense of humour.
Working hours are from 8:30am - 3:15pm with 30 minutes lunch.

The contract is a Fixed Term Contract that will be renewed at the end of each academic year providing the child remains at the school.

The contract is linked with the child and will run until the child leaves Kennington Primary School.

Essential Qualifications

  • GCSE Grade C (or equivalent) in Maths and English Language
Desirable Qualifications

  • NVQ level 2 or above qualification appropriate to the post (or equivalent).

  • Experience of working/caring with children with an EHCP or SEND
