About the Team:


Bereavement Services are responsible for providing a high quality, professional and sympathetic service to the bereaved across all three Cemeteries, two Crematoria and Public Health Funeral Services.


About the Role:


The Bereavement Services team is responsible for providing a high quality, professional and sympathetic service to the bereaved across all three Cemeteries, two Crematoria and Public Health Funeral Services.


You will be working within a team to arrange and deliver burial, cremation, and memorialisation services by booking services, organising schedules and processing statutory paperwork.


You will be the first point of contact for the service so you will need a professional respectful manner when communicating, to be literate with good I.T.

skills, have excellent attention to detail, and the ability to build strong productive relationships with various teams inside and outside the Council.


You will be dealing with bereaved citizens, funeral directors, clergy members and external contractors regularly, and therefore excellent customer service and interpersonal skills are a must.


On occasion, you will also be required to carry duties outside of the office, from chapel services to involvement with our Public Health function, meaning there will be contact with the deceased in this role.

Working knowledge of bereavement services and proven experience of working within the sector or a related service is essential.
