We're looking for an amazing Product Designer to join our small but growing product team. Together, we're not just changing the way people apply for and get their mortgages - we're redefining the future of home financing.

Please note this role requires you to be in the office 4 days a week.

Responsibilities

As a Product Designer at Koodoo, you'll play a pivotal role in shaping the user experience and design of our cutting-edge products. Your responsibilities will include:

  • User Experience Design: Craft and refine fully responsive user experiences across multiple web applications and brands. Apply user-centred design to champion the needs of our users.
  • Design Systems: Own and continue to build out our internal design system, helping us solve complex design challenges in intuitive ways.
  • Strategy: Work with product managers to uncover opportunity areas, define user needs, create user stories and help shape the product roadmap.
  • Collaboration: Refine requirements and ensure that new functionality is delivered by working closely with engineers, creating clear and concise design documentation.
  • Communication: Clearly articulate design decisions and their rationale to the wider team, building alignment and understanding.
  • Prototyping and Testing: Build complex prototypes to demonstrate and test interactions whilst creating and running user-testing sessions to validate our designs and uncover usability issues.
  • Stay Informed and Innovate: Keep up with the latest trends and tools in design and technology. Bring fresh ideas and perspectives to the table, helping to keep our products at the forefront of innovation.
  • Quality Assurance: Ensure the quality of design throughout all phases of the project, from conception to delivery. Pay attention to detail to guarantee that the final product meets high standards.
  • Data-Driven Design: Utilise data and analytics to inform design decisions, ensuring our products not only look great but also perform well.

Requirements

Minimum Requirements

  • Experience: 3+ years of experience designing digital products, with a proven track record creating designs for existing products as well as designing 0 to 1 products as part of cross-functional teams.
  • Portfolio: A design portfolio that demonstrates design principles for web and/or mobile platforms.
  • Technical Skills: A knowledge of Figma, Sketch or similar design tools with experience creating complex prototypes and conducting user testing sessions.
  • Understanding of UX Principles: A solid grasp of user-centred design and testing methodologies, usability, and accessibility concerns.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively articulate design concepts and rationales to team members and stakeholders.
  • Right to Work: Must be legally authorised to work in the country where the job is located.

Ideal Requirements

  • Industry Experience: Experience designing products in the financial services space.
  • Additional Technical Skills: Basic knowledge of HTML and CSS as well as proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Commercial and Business Thinking: An ability to understand and incorporate commercial strategies within design decisions, including designing with a focus on maximising key business metrics, understanding market trends, and aligning with business objectives.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Experience working closely with business stakeholders, including marketing, sales, and finance teams, to ensure that design solutions are aligned with commercial goals and market realities.
