Role overviewWe are seeking a talented and motivated Product Designer to join our team for a fixed term of 9 months (with the potential to be extended to 12 months), providing absence cover.
This role will involve undertaking specific design projects aligned with our product roadmap.The successful candidate will independently manage these projects, contributing to shaping and prioritising the product roadmap, conducting user research and testing, maintaining and extending our design system, and ensuring high-quality design output.
Key responsibilitiesManage and deliver product design projects aligned with the product roadmapContribute to the shaping and prioritisation of the product roadmapConduct competitor research, user research, and user testing - using tools like - surveys, quantitative and qualitative methods, and other appropriate toolsMaintain and extend our design system in Figma, including creating detailed prototypes to test microinteractionsCollaborate closely with content, publishing, sales, and marketing teams on project basisDesign holistic user flows, rather than individual screens or components, selecting design patterns based on strong rationale and reflecting our content design principles in your UXWork closely with developers to understand and work around constraintsPerform quality assurance by testing built features and fixing bugs with the development teamYou should apply if you have: Proven experience as a product designer, preferably within an educational or digital content environmentProficiency in Figma, including experience in maintaining and extending design systemsStrong background in leading user research and testing using various methods and tools (e.g., ) Solid understanding of user-centred design principles and methodologies.
Ability to design comprehensive user flows and choose design patterns based on solid reasoningExcellent UX writing skills, with the ability to reflect content design principles in your workStrong collaboration skills, with experience working closely with content, publishing, sales, and marketing teams on project basisAbility to work closely with developers, understanding technical constraints and working around them effectivelyAttention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality design workExcellent communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate design decisions and rationale
