Legal Costs Assistant
Established for over 25 years, KLS Law is one of the North West's leading Specialist Personal Injury firms.

Based in Warrington, with good links to the M56 and M62 and close to both Warrington Bank Quay and Warrington Central train stations.

KLS Law are seeking a Legal Costs Assistant to join our team based in Warrington.

You will handle claims for costs covering all areas of costs work including RTA, Employers Liability and Public Liability, Clinical Negligence and Professional Negligence

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Provide support to the department who prepare claims for payment to the Third Party Insurers, private paying clients or other relevant bodies.
  • Work effectively on the Client and Cost Management System
  • Ensure that payments are allocated to the correct file/matter when funds are received
  • Ensure that bills are submitted and have been received by the relevant party, files are satisfactorily finished, disbursements paid, and files closed
  • Provide general administrative support to the Costing department
  • Liaising with Defendant/Claimant Solicitors, Counsel and Court

Person Specification

  • Positive, confident and enthusiastic attitude
  • Ability to use own initiative and make decisions
  • Plan and prioritise work load
  • Excellent listening and verbal and written skills
  • Good telephone skills
  • Follow Firm work procedures and keep to strategy
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure
  • Ability to work in a highly confidential environment
  • Good IT skills
