An exciting job opportunity is available to work as a Band 7 Team Co-Ordinator in Lincoln MHLS.

The Lincoln MHLS is a 24-hour Service, it meets CORE 24 Standards and is PLAN accredited with The Royal College of Psychiatrists It is based at the Peter Hodgkinson Centre, Lincoln County Hospital Site and covers A&E Dept.

and approx. 600 Acute Trust beds.


The Lincoln MHLS provides Biopsychosocial assessment, case management and signposting for all Mental Health Conditions for Patients aged 16yrs to no upper age limit.

The Lincoln MHLS embodies the skills and knowledge of Adult Consultant Psychiatrist (Service Clinical Lead), Older Age Psychiatrist, SAS Medical Staff, Junior Medical Staff, Non-Medical Prescriber, Registered Nurses, Occupational Therapists, Social Workers, Drug and Alcohol Liaison Worker, Peer Support Workers, Medical Secretaries, and a Team Administrator.


We are looking for someone with strong leadership skills, the ability to lead on Complex and unpredictable care events, overall leadership and management responsibilities for the team and an effective and compassionate communicator.

To provide the overall clinical and managerial leadership of the Acute Hospital Mental Health Liaison Service.

This position is both Clinical and Managerial with a team composition made up of Nursing, Allied Healthcare Professionals, Administrative and Medical representation.

As Team Co-Ordinator you will provide the expert knowledge within your area of specialism as well as line managing the service of Lincoln MHLS

To manage the overall service delivery in accordance with and in order to contribute towards the attainment of Service/Trust productivity requirements and Commissioner Key Performance Indicators.

Developing the service inline with NICE Achieving better Access to 24/7 Urgent and Emergency Mental Health Care - Part 2: Implementing the Evidence -based treatment Pathway for Urgent and Emergency Liaison mental health Services for Adults and Older Adults - Guidance, first published in 2016.

Operational hours are Monday to Friday 9am-5pm on the main, with some weekend work as and when required.

The service currently operates In Boston, Pilgrim Hospital site 24/7 from 1 st April 2020 and in Grantham District Hospital, which is currently downgraded to an Urgent Treament Centre 09:00-17:00hrs over 7 days.


Demonstrate the ability to effectively influence the political dimensions of service development and policy inline with the Trusts Integrated Business Plan.

Use specialist knowledge to deal effectively with newly encountered clinical situations.


Work with individuals to assess their mental health, recognise mental illness and identify their related needs and circumstances; and enable them to understand, manage and where appropriate change their behaviour by linking them with evidence based treatment pathways.

Plan, implement, review, improve interventions and treatment pathways to meet people's identified needs and manage their inherent risk with comprehensive Clinical Risk Formulation and care planning

To assess carers' and families needs and develop, implement and review programmes of support for carers and families.

Protect people from abuse, neglect and harm.


To work collaboratively and promote effective working relationships with members of the multi-disciplinary team, ensuring appropriate clinical decision-making, with other professionals and agencies.


To work collaboratively with ULHT to improve the quality of coding of primary and secondary mental health needs in the A&E departments.

To adhere to N.M.C. or other professional codes of conduct and ethics, plus associated legislation.

To develop clinical practice having due regard tor the NICE Guidelines for Laision Psychiatry 2016

To provide, participate and when necessary, chair joint governance process's with key stakeholder groups (ULHT)
