CAMHS Crisis and enhanced treatment services are expanding We have exciting new posts to support children and young people (CYP) accessing our medical areas at the hospital, including A&E, paediatrics, and the hospital wards at Lincoln County hospital (LCH) and Pilgrim hospital Boston (PHB).


We have a 2 Band 6 positions available within the existing team based in Lincoln and 4 Band 6 position in a developing team at Boston both working shifts across a 24/7 rota.


The roles will be based within the CAMHS crisis teams in the north and south of the county but also working closely with the adults MH liaison team and be based with them at LCH and PHB at night.


We will offer a full induction package for all new starters within the teams and have some really training opportunities throughout the year already booked to build on skills and interventions.

We are an innovative service and pride ourselves in providing training to enhance the care and support we can deliver.

We welcome clinicians with creative ideas to help continue to develop the service.

Crisis/liaison work is fast paced and often challenging, and our teams love cake and snacks, good baking skills is a desirable requirement for this post.

You will work closely with CAMHS CCETT staff to ensure a 24-hour service is offered for CYP experiencing a mental health crisis, including phone support out of hours to those on the case load, support to those accessing medical care or emergency care through ULHT or the S136 suite.


You will work closely with ULHT, CAMHS and other providers to ensure CYP experiencing mental health crisis have quick access to mental health triage, support, and assessment to allow signposting for follow up and discharge home.

This includes those with a range of different mental health presentations and eating difficulties.


You will also work with the S136 suite if any CYP are detained there and will take calls via SPA at night from CYP/Families and carers known to the service and from emergency services who need support, liaison, triage, or assessment for a CYP presenting in a mental health crisis.


The Lincoln team have been in post since March 23 are we are already receiving some great results and feedback from this new service.

We are now ready to develop a further team in the South of the county but the teams will continue to support each other.

  • Provide full assessment and collaborative care planning for implementation by the multidisciplinary team, in partnership with young people/carers and other workers involved in care delivery.
  • Act on behalf of CAMHS CCETT out of hours and take calls and emergency referrals during the night from SPA, A&E, Paediatrics, 111, ambulance service and the police. Also provide support and guidance to CYP/Families and carers open to the service out of hours.
  • To work with MDT to support discharge planning and prevent further hospital admission (both acute and Tier 4).
  • Work with CCETT to provide rapid triage and assessment across the county when required.
  • To be a link person between Rainforest Ward (LCH), Ward 4 (PHB) and CAMHS/CCETT.
  • To provide Emergency Departments with rapid access to specialist mental health assessment to avoid hospital admission where possible.
  • To provide effective mental health interventions in Emergency Departments, Medical Emergency Admissions Unit (MEAU), paediatric care and Acute Care Hospital Inpatient Wards to improve the quality of care in these environments and reduce length of stay and improve patie
