A Lead Clay Modeller is required on a fixed term contract to join a Coventry based OEM; you will be based in their Pune Design Studio India which is the headquarters for the global design team.


The studio in Pune is leading the development for a programme and assisting with the development of a coherent design language across product ranges.

The Lead Clay Modeller role will contribute to the development and ongoing improvement of a world classdesign team and overall operation.

**AsLead Clay Modeller
- you will be required to*
  • Lead project clay models and manage a team of clay modellers
  • Support the Clay Modelling Manager and General Manager (Pune) with the timing proposals and delivery of clay models
  • Support the Clay Modelling Manager with the delivery of exterior, interior and scale 3D physical design properties.
  • Plan and prioritise own workload and the workload of others
  • To support the Modelling Manager in every day running of the design studio
  • Support the designers with feasible solutions to design proposals

As Lead Clay Modeller - you will have

  • Degree qualified or equivalent with proven experience in clay modelling
  • Excellent clay modelling skills with good knowledge of automotive design development processes
  • Good understanding of automotive studio operations and functions
  • Ability to utilise studio CMM equipment
  • A good eye for design proportions and able to work to a high standard on intricate models.
  • Experience working directly with Alias modelling and Studio Engineering teams to develop model feasibility
  • Ability to dress models to a highquality finish when required
