King Edward VII's Hospital is a leading private healthcare provider located in London.

We are seeking a Head of Operations to join our dynamic team and help us achieve our mission of providing the highest quality of care to our patients.


As the Head of Operations, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the hospital and ensuring that all departments are working efficiently and effectively.

You will work closely with the senior leadership team to develop and implement strategies that align with the hospital's goals and objectives.


Responsibilities:

  • Manage and deliver excellent, high quality, patientfocused and effective clinical services within the area of responsibility, ensuring that all service targets and objectives are delivered as set out in the Hospital business plan.
  • Establish and maintain excellent relationships with clinical staff, leaders, and external stakeholders, successfully developing highquality clinical services in response to evidencebased practice and national guidelines.
  • Develop and maintain a commercial culture, ensuring that all team members understand the strategic direction of the organisation and their individual contribution.
  • Work with the Director of Operations to develop a clear strategic direction for each service underpinned by a robust business model, ensuring that developments and improvements are responsive to patient and customer needs and appropriate to the provision of a costeffective, safe, quality service.
  • Initiate and drive service improvement activities that positively affect all stakeholders and identify new business opportunities.
  • Monitor performance against business objectives and targets; track progress against targets and prepare regular reports for the Senior Management Team; Contribute to the formulation of annual plans, monitor their implementation, and make appropriate changes within areas of responsibility.
  • Work with the Director of Operations to develop, implement and maintain a gold standard service by leading the operational management of the area of responsibility, ensuring that the organisation provides highquality services, responsive to the needs of patients.
  • Ensure that agreed financial activity and other performance targets in the annual business plan are delivered.
  • Be responsible for ensuring that standards of service are continuously set and reviewed to support others in the delivery of services in line with NICE and other national and local guidance and benchmarks, activity and financial targets.
  • Work closely with clinical colleagues, supporting the Clinical Directors, Nursing Leads, and the Hospital operational management team in highquality, costeffective service delivery, ensuring that specific needs of all stakeholders are regularly reviewed.
  • Responsible for setting up measures to monitor the daily and monthly performance of the areas of responsibility and to ensure that the services achieve the highest possible standard to meet the Hospitals objectives. Have the ability to analyse and interpret a range of options in highly complex situations, making judgments and deciding upon corrective action to ensure performance targets are achieved.
  • Responsible for ensuring that all facilities within your area of responsibility are utilised efficiently and in a way that maximizes revenue and ensuring appropriate cost savings are achieved, while ensuring that positive and collaborative relationships are maintained.
  • Management of department and utilization of all outpatient and imaging areas across the organization.
  • Responsible for the Admissions team and process in its entirety, including theatre scheduling process and bed bookings, ensuring all theatre sessions and beds are efficiently allocated and utilised.
  • Support the Director of Operations in strategic planning and assist in the development and implementation of the longterm strategy for outpatient and inpatient services.
  • Formulate new service development and initiatives, preparing bids ensuring business cases are produced for service developments, taking into account activity and income projects, ensuring that they are in line with the Hospital's strategy.
  • Lead process improvement and encourage a whole system approach to service transformation and improvement.
  • Continually improve the patient journey and improve efficiency, ensuring the patient views are at the forefront of service delivery, service improvement, and care pathway development achieved by effective communication between servicerelated managers and staff.
  • Develop/promote the Hospital by engaging with external customers and referral channels as appropriate, working closely with the Business Development team.
