The Team
Our probate team consists of experienced professionals including senior associates, solicitors, and paralegals, all part of our larger Private Client department. At Wilsons, all solicitors in the probate team are either STEP qualified or working towards this qualification.
The Role
In this role, you will collaborate closely with team members, focusing on tasks such as:
- Handling the administration of sizable and intricate taxable estates, applying property reliefs, calculating inheritance tax, and managing beneficiaries
- Managing estate administrations for national charities
- Preparing wills and LPAs, including those for elderly clients, involving possible visits to clients on short notice
You will also be responsible for supervising other legal professionals.
The Person
The ideal candidate will:
- Be a member of STEP or ATT/CTA qualified, or be motivated to pursue and attain the qualification
- Possess strong technical skills
- Have a valid driving license and personal transport for client meetings, crucial to the role
- Display flexibility and adaptability to meet client requirements
- Demonstrate extensive knowledge of lasting powers of attorney
- Exhibit exceptional client care abilities, fostering long-term client relationships
- Show enthusiasm and ambition to work as part of a team
- Be proactive, organized, and detail-oriented with quick decision-making skills
- Understand business operations
- Be highly proficient in IT and open to adopting new technologies and practices
