Loading Shovel/ Plant Operator

Job description
Sylvagen is an established company operating in the waste, recycling, and renewable fuel sectors. We are looking to add a hardworking and reliable individual to join our processing yard in Tilbury Essex.

What we're looking for:


A dynamic and experienced operator who has ideally worked within a wood, green waste, or waste processing yard operating and loading Screeners or shredding equipment.

You must be self-motivated with a problem-solving can-do attitude. You must be physically fit and willing to help with maintenance and general yard duties. Some travel maybe required.

This role includes (but is not limited to):

  • Operating loading shovels to feed processing equipment
  • Operating 360 excavator to feed processing equipment
  • Pushing up stockpiles
  • Loading lorries
  • Occasional cover in other operating sites.
  • General yard duties to include
  • Machinery maintenance
  • Refuelling
  • Shift Clean downs
  • Housekeeping & tidiness
  • Weighbridge cover

Requirements:

  • Minimum 3 years' experience working in a processing yard.
  • Minimum 1 years' experience operating a loading shovel.
  • Minimum 1 years' experience operating a Screener of shredder
  • Acute awareness of Health and Safety
  • Valid Full UK driving license

Nice to 'have'

  • Experience operating a weighbridge
  • Some IT skills

The package:

Salary indication:
£ £15.00 per hour + Company van

Holidays: 28 days

Working hours: 7.00am to 5.30pm (some flexibility required)

Working Days:
Monday to Friday (47.5 hours) & every other Saturday (morning shift of 5 hours) with potential of overtime available
