Job Description

As a Senior Hard-Surface Artist at Atomic Arcade you will be empowered to create industry leading 3D models and collaborate closely with the Art Director and team to deliver outstanding gaming experiences for players. The ideal candidate for this position is passionate about gaming and the creation of AAA quality assets and strives to develop efficient and practical content processes for all team members to rally behind.

We are considering on-site, hybrid, remote working options for candidates.

What You'll Do:

  • Produce high-caliber, realistic 3D models of vehicles, weapons, environment and character assets which adhere to the project's visual and technical requirements.
  • Model and texture hard surface assets for integration in the Unreal 5 engine, being vigilant of creating engine performant content.
  • Work closely with the Art Director as well as the Art and Design leads to develop concepts into practical 3D assets.
  • Collaborate with the Animation and Technical Art teams to provide assets in the proper specifications to be rigged, animated and implemented into the engine.
  • Provide feedback to outsourcing partners. Defining specifications and documentation for 3D assets to be outsourced.
  • Help implement and improve pipelines for content production and implementation.
  • Provide documentation for best practices and processes in 3D asset development.
  • Communicate, mentor and provide guidance to other artists.
  • Strive to maintain a healthy work environment of creativity, enthusiasm and equality.
  • Mentor artists; providing constructive feedback and present high quality models which sets visual standards for others to follow.
Skills & Requirements

What You'll Bring:

  • 5+ years of experience in 3D game art production.
  • Good understanding of art fundamentals; lighting, color, form, 3D shapes.
  • Expertise with 3D and 2D software suites (Maya, 3DMax, ZBrush, Blender, Substance, Photoshop.
  • A background as a Hard-Surface Artist, specializing in weapon and vehicle creation.
  • Unreal Engine experience (Unreal 5 preferred)
  • Strong verbal and written communication, able to give and receive clear feedback.
  • Ability to find creative solutions to artistic challenges and problems.
  • Able to work with a high degree of self-direction, but also within a collaborative creative team.
  • Have shipped multiple PC/Console titles.
